Marionettes have traditionally been used to tell stories of the human condition. Moral stories in all honesty and rawness about life and death, love and hate, deception and intrigue, happiness and sorrow. Without any sugar coating marionettes serve as the mirror of human existence. Rob paints narratives in which marionettes struggle between dependency, as they are tied with their strings, and the urge for freedom. The narrative scenes illustrate the human dichotomy of being fully liberated and ever dependent.
